What about fairness in Public broadcasting? PBS and NPR Keep spouting off communist propoganda and the only time anyone remotely conservative is on is with the McLaughlin group and thats Pat Buchanan. HE'S A FRIGGEN LEFT WINGER AND A NAZI! He just openly admits some of the crap that liberals think.
Freedom of Speech has nothing to do with the fairness doctrine. The only ones who have freedom of speech are those who own the radio stations, and they relentlessly hire one-sided conservative commentators. A Liberal talk radio host has trouble getting hired by a conservative radio station owner.
But remember, in theory, the airwaves belong to the American people, who are now more Liberal than Conservative. We want "our" airwaves to carry opinions that we want to hear, not opinions that condemn and slander Liberals.
It's Fairness we're talking about, you want to slam the Liberals 24/7 on publicly owned airwaves? We say you may do it, but you also must give the other side a chance to respond. That's Fairness.
Why on earth would be against fairness? So you right wingers don't want to let other people have their say? I thought this blog was about freedom?

Okay so if your airwaves are yours, then why don't you try setting up a radio station without first dealing with the government? No didn't think so. Liberals are the ones who put government in charge of that BTW and they wont stop there.

Your Airwaves? My dear, they are regulated by the government so in a way they aren't yours. The only good news is that it is not total control. Also webster's dictionary calls slander spreading false rumors. Those aren't rumors, those are facts. Therefore it is not slander. Of course since you liberals oppose free speech and free media as evidenced by the FCC I'm not surprised.

Well that hasn't stopped Al Franken and Amy Goodman and some of these other losers from getting air time. Also the radio hosts aren't all conservative. They hire conservative hosts because that is what the public wants to hear. They make money advertising on popular shows. No one is going to put up an ad on a radio show that doesn't get that many viewers. We have more conservatives because that's what the people want to hear. But instead of using our free markets to promote other shows, you resort to slander by pandering to BIG govnernment to silence him for crticizing Obama.

No... that is not what the fairness doctrine is about. The law requires that every one hour show is followed by another hour of an opposite view. If radio execs have to have 3 hours of a popular host and 3 more of one who is a dud, then they are just going to play 6 hours of music. The entire purpose of the fairness doctrine is to silence everyone.
Look, you already have PBS and NPR, its state run and tax payer run. What the hell are you complaining about? Also, you have The New York Times, the Washington Post, LA Times, SF Chronicle, There's also CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, ETC ETC ETC
You also have the internet. Yet just because conservatives have one channel, like fox and a dozen radio stations, you have to throw a fit and demand we fork over our rights to free speech and free press.

YOUR airwaves? I don't think so. You know this problem wouldn't have happened if you hadn't whined to the BIG government to regulate the airwaves and the media. The reason conservatives have all this airtime is because its what people want to hear! No one wants to listen to some old hippie or marxist student advocate destroying American liberty and tradition. So what do you do? Instead of helping us get government out of the way and using free markets to promote your viewpoints you go crying to the government like a spoiled little brat and demand that Rush and anyone who is not a leftist be silenced!

That's what this is exactly about. They can't compete with other views because everyone is aware that socialism is a failed systme. So they go cry to the state to silence the truth.
